Did you get a severe cold or illness this winter? Was it the annual flu or Coronavirus (Covid-19)? Even if you got a flu shot, many will still get the flu.
Even if you were really ill and did NOT go to the ER, you may have had Covid.
Today, getting tested is difficult. If you go to the ER, they my do a test to r/o Covid. Likely a nasal swab for RNA with RT-PCR. Only now are we getting an antigen and antibody test.
In NYC, 25% of the population had antibodies, indicating prior infection. Maybe much less in other areas, around 4%.
